Designing Responsible AI and Robotics Solutions

CRAiEDL, the Canadian Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Ethical Design Lab, examines complex ethical and social issues raised by existing and emerging robotics and AI technologies and applications. This helps inform responsible development and deployment of these technologies, fostering a culture of best-practice application in Canada and worldwide. By developing concepts, frameworks, and tools, CRAiEDL supports the design, development, and deployment of robots and artificial intelligence systems. These resources can be used by students, start-ups, private sector companies, and policymakers to develop responsible AI and robotics solutions. CRAiEDL collaborates with stakeholders across Canada and globally to create policy thinking that promotes governance of robotics and AI. This collaboration drives the creation of tools and frameworks for ethical design, enabling the development of robots and artificial intelligence systems that benefit society as a whole.
