What was the main challenge in this project?
The main challenge was conveying the luxury and precision of the Lexus brand while filming in a rugged outdoor environment. The shoot locations had uneven terrain, variable lighting, and unpredictable conditions that could easily distract from the vehicle’s refined design. Maintaining Lexus’s upscale image required careful framing, color balance, and drone coordination to ensure the final visuals felt polished and premium despite the rough backdrop.
What was your solution or approach?
The solution was to use a controlled mix of cinematic camera techniques and precise drone movements to contrast the vehicle’s elegance against the rugged setting. Redideo Studio carefully planned shot composition, using natural light to emphasize the car’s reflective surfaces and contours. Color grading balanced the earthy tones of the environment with the clean, modern palette associated with Lexus. The result maintained a premium, aspirational look while highlighting the vehicle’s performance and capability in challenging terrain.
What was the outcome or impact for the client?
The campaign was a success. Lexus El Cajon and iHeartMedia San Diego were very happy with the final commercial and its visual quality. They used it across multiple online marketing campaigns, where the mix of cinematic video production and drone footage helped the spot stand out. The polished visuals reinforced Lexus’s premium image and performed well across digital platforms, increasing engagement and visibility within the San Diego market.
