Whispers of the Void is a VR, first-person, story-rich sci-fi adventure set in a futuristic, mysterious galaxy. Designed to maximize immersion, the game blends exploration, puzzle-solving, and intense combat with swordplay and physics-based interactions — all woven into a deeply narrative experience.
What was the main challenge in this project?
Delivering VR-readable visuals and smooth performance while keeping the scene density and lighting quality high; aligning the slice to PC and VR targets without duplicating content.
What was your solution or approach?
Performance-first content and rendering pipeline: clean silhouettes, baked lighting where possible, LODs/instancing, trimmed materials, reduced overdraw; gameplay in Blueprint/C++; OpenXR input; scoped milestones with build or video+report reviews. For VR we target Quest baseline 72 FPS (90 FPS on PCVR when required) and track frame-time budgets per scene.
What was the outcome or impact for the client?
- VR-friendly visuals with predictable performance budgets
- Repeatable UE5 workflow for art, gameplay and builds (ready to scale to production)
- Featured at a VR showcase
