Kanbii is a skills-based recruitment platform built for a Zurich-based pre-seed startup backed by Höhle der Löwen (the Swiss version of Shark Tank). We handled the full product lifecycle: product design, UI/UX, frontend (web + mobile), backend, and DevOps. The platform includes a web application, iOS and Android mobile apps, and a marketing website.
What was the main challenge in this project?
Kanbii needed to match job seekers with employers based on skills rather than traditional CVs. The platform required complex matching algorithms, multi-platform support (web + mobile), real-time search with geolocation, and a scalable architecture that could handle rapid growth after their TV appearance on Höhle der Löwen.
What was your solution or approach?
We built the entire platform from scratch using Django and FastAPI on the backend with Elastic Search and PostGIS for skills matching and location-based search. The web app was built with Nuxt.js, the mobile apps with React Native, and the website with Next.js. Infrastructure runs on Docker with Traefik, Redis, and RabbitMQ for async processing. We also handled all product design and UX research using Figma.
What was the outcome or impact for the client?
The platform launched on time and is one of the most complex products we have ever built. Kanbii co-founder René F. Lehmann said: "Pyango GmbH has delivered the project on time, meeting expectations. The team collaborates effectively, accommodates issues and concerns immediately, and offers innovative solutions. They are committed to delivering the best outcome possible no matter what it takes."
