In the $$ Millions-of-Dollars a day mining industry, heavy equipment downtime is the equivalent of throwing wads of cash down the drain. So Australian inventor Mark Prentice came up with a concept where changing unseen but critical slew bearings on heavy shovels cost a fraction of time and money compared to traditional methods. Mark's Maxi Jax™ system allows engineers to swap out a slew bearing in days instead of weeks, saving the company mine operator tens of thousands of dollars.
What was the main challenge in this project?
Given that Maxi Jax™ is a totally new innovation, Marmoset had to create a simple web presence which presented the system in a simple no-fuss way, to ensure that mine co-ordinators globally could grasp the simplicity of the system. Rather then a huge website with hundreds of pages of data, we decided that a simple website of 4 or 5 pages was enough to promote the service to operators who need it with concise, easy to digest info.
What was your solution or approach?
Simplicity of complex data, set in a language any mine co-ordinator/operator can understand without having a technical background. We also ensured that a secure job/enquiry request form was built so that mine managers could submit a request that provided all necessary global location and technical information.
What was the outcome or impact for the client?
The website and the accompanying Maxi Jax™ innovation has been very successful with the brand dominating online search for specific service-related queries.
