With the growth of Moon Valley Nurseries, so came the need to move from their current small scale web solution to a new enterprise grade website solution. The solution would need to not only showcase their products and services, but also provided their customers with an online resource for “everything landscaping“ and allow their customers to buy online. A unique challenge of the new website was in design. The design needed to provide a balance of lead generation opportunities as well as online sales opportunities. Other challenges that presented themselves included (1) creating an entirely new site structure that that provided a location dependent multi-store user experience with multiple product views to support various catalog modes, … (2) provide a foundation to the solution that would support a POS and Inventory management system changeover and integration at a near future date and time and (3) include several custom modules and enhancements that supported Moon Valley Nurseries current business workflows. These solutions would need to support Moon Valley Nurseries current and planned inbound marketing and online sales strategies. We began the project with collaborative planning workshops that help identify Moon Valley Nurseries product line and desired catalog structure for the new web application. We designed a brand new online digital catalog of their product line and implemented a brand new eCommerce management system that is well integrated with their inventory management and other various operational business systems. We built out additional features to support region based pricing, product comparisons, digital product purchasing, bulk purchasing, quick checkout, shipping and delivery options, business intelligence requirements, and customer engagement support.
