An NGO approached us with a fascinating project - to come up with a unufued way of presenting their underwater 3d scans. Submerged Foundation is one of the best experts in underwater photogrammetry in the world.
What was the main challenge in this project?
Submerged Foundation's collection of 3d scans of flooded mines and shipwrecks is impressive. However, they did not have a plan on how to present them. The goal was to create a set of renders, videos and an AR/ VR experience that would present their underwater discoveries ina compelling and attractive way.
What was your solution or approach?
We started with drafting a uniform visuual style, havily basing on cross-sections of the underwater corridors.
Then we proceeded with the execution. Started with optimizeing the 3d models for optimal eb viewing experience.
After that we created a set of renders and animations presenting the underwater 3d scans from a diver's perspective.
Finally we created a VR application aollowing users to conduct a virtual dive in one of the flooded mines that Submerged has scanned.
What was the outcome or impact for the client?
The materials we created were substantial for their communcication. They became their main website assets. Renders and videos were also playing a substantial role in Submerged's keynotes on underwater 3d scanning all over the world.
